Australia doubles mental health subsidy

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Budget announced funding for more mental health help. All Australians can get up to 20 sessions a year with a psychologist.

That’s twice the funding before. But the subsidy of AU$128/hour might still not cover the full fee.

It’s a good step forward that sees the importance of mental health. But this extra support will still cost too much for many.
